Rob Buco Photography
Providence, Rhode Island

What started out as a half-hearted look into my past, my past friendships and my 20 years out of high school became a wide eyed journey into my world through anothers well trained eye.  Rob Buco was my friend, my partner in crime, my wing man all through high school.  After I left high school and went my separate way… to college…a year before Rob and all my friends, we lost track.  20 years later and wow, only 24 short hours ago, I started getting friends requests on facebook of all things from former classmates.  I in turn, sent out a few, one to Rob Buco.  He was the one person I had always wished I hadn’t let slip by, my one true childhood friend that always understood me.

Now I can say that he has accepted my friend request, but I have not spoken to him yet.  Maybe he does not remember me like I do him…. I mean it has been 20 years!  I did find one amazing thing when looking for him.  His website!

RobBuco.com is wonderful.  I have already started sending it out to all my big spending gay, lesbian and none of the above friends!

I immediately had a favorite!  Big Shocker… I know! Titled, “New England Forest in monochrome” it takes my love of black and white natural settings and makes it pop!

“Day Lilly”, was a close second, again black-white and powerful!  Rob Buco’s use of lighting makes the lily come alive and leap from the very page.  A must have for my house!

“Coastal Rhode Island”, brought me immediately home to my Rhode Island days.  Sitting on the rocks, watching the fishing boats pull in… I could almost smell the ocean.

In the Female Erotica Section Rob has found a way to truly show the softness in a woman’s skin, but yet the power of her body.  When my children are grown there are a few of these I have picked out! Note the amazing and beautiful lines in “Vintage Postcard 2″.

I know that every artist makes his or her art, in his or her own minds eye…but the buyer also takes from it what they need.  My next favorite piece, does exactly that.  I do not know what Rob Buco of Rob Buco Photography was aiming for when he brilliantly took, “Manny 6″, in the Male Erotica section.  What did I take from it?  Dealing with the gay, lesbian, transgendered community as I have for the past few years…and being a mentor to so many, I have seen the look Rob Buco was able to capture in his subjects eyes.  I have seen many battle with what they felt were their demons, and what society feels is right and wrong.  Rob Buco was able in my eye to capture the lost, confused boy that I so often meet.  Now I do not know what his intent was… but this one photograph opened up a wave of emotion to me.  And that is what a great photograph does!  Bravo Mr. Buco!  Bravo!

Mr. Buco has so many categories, it is impossible for me to name them one by one.  Please take a swing by and look at Robbuco.com.  His art is extremely beautiful, be it in full color or black and white.  His prices surprisingly reasonable, and in my opinion less expensive then copied off prints from major chain stores.

Rob Buco’s art as a whole in my opinion, created wonderfully evocative images and lyrical commentary on many levels.  His photography attracts and holds us by sheer beauty and striking visual appeal.  Rob has a huge passion for his profession and he demonstrates it through his pictures.

Nature and life photography can be difficult for even the most technically talented photographers. There is so much more to this type of photography than just knowing what makes up the technical side of image making.  Photographers have to have a sense of place, a sense of self, a quick eye and has to know how all of those talents fit into the environment.  Rob has these skills and they show in his images time and time again.

The only down side is every single thing on the website is copy protected, so I could not even grab a watermarked picture to post for all of you to see and link it back to his website.  Please don’t let it stop you from clicking on the many links I have embedded here.  It is worth the trip!

This has been a very happy journey, and a quick one sided catch up of and old friends success.  Great Job Rob!  I will continue to recommend your work to everyone I know!
